A helicopter carrying six people crashed in Marondera, Zimbabwe, leaving no survivors. State media confirmed that prominent businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife, Sonja Madzikanda, were among the victims of the tragic accident.
The helicopter crashed in rural Marondera, located southeast of Harare. Emergency services and air accident investigators were dispatched to the scene, where authorities confirmed that all four passengers and two crew members on board lost their lives.
Government spokesperson Nick Mangwana expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims as civil aviation authorities initiated a full investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Tributes have begun pouring in across the country for the victims following the official confirmation.
